The Springfield Armory XD 4-inch Full Size is a .45 ACP semi-automatic pistol built around a full-size polymer frame and a 4-inch barrel. Its ergonomics, grip safety, Ultra Safety Assurance trigger system, striker status indicator, loaded chamber indicator, and firing pin block provide multiple layers of safe handling. This version adds an ambidextrous manual thumb safety for users who prefer an additional external safety control. The pistol comes with standard fixed sights and a durable Blue/Black finish.

This is a great gun,...
This is a great gun, it has perfect balance and weight for the .45 load. Recoil is minimum due to it's hefty weight, despite it's compact size. We especially like the 13 1 capacity, beats a 1911 hands down, and it comes with 2 MAGS. Take down is straight forward like any striker type. A little hefty for a carry weapon but not impossible. For home defense, ideal. We use it at the range with cheap aluminum rounds and never had a FTL or jam. At home we keep it filled with defense rounds. We'd prefer not to have the grip safety but it's not such a nuisance, maybe a good feature for resale. All in all we'd rate itt a 9/10.
