The Springfield Armory XD 5 Inch Compact combines a discreet compact frame with a full-size slide and 5-inch barrel, offering a longer sight radius and smooth recoil recovery while remaining easier to carry than a full-size pistol. Chambered in .45 ACP, it features a forged-steel slide with Melonite finish, black polymer frame and grip, and steel 3-Dot sights. The striker-fired design includes Springfield's USA Action Trigger System, grip safety, loaded chamber indicator, striker status indicator, and internal firing pin block. Flush-fitting magazines provide a compact profile, while X-Tension magazines increase capacity to 13+1 rounds.

I Love the Springfield...
I Love the Springfield XD pistols! There flawless in design and function. I have the XD 9 Sub Compact and it was right on target out of the box. I can now say the same thing for this XD 45. With the heavy long recoil spring. Makes this 45 recoil more like a 9mm. I can't recommend the XD line of pistols more. There affordable for the quality that you get right out of the box. As always Bud's delivers on there service as well I am very happy with Bud's and Springfield Armory's XD line of pistols!

EXCELLENT pistol. I shoot it out to 50 yards with my cast bullets. It is very, very accurate. Easy to break down and clean. Excellent trigger--once you get used to it. If you're expecting a 1911-style trigger, you'll be disappointed until you get used to this trigger. Cycles my reloads very well. Any malfunctions have been due to the ammo, not the pistol. It's too big for true concealed carry, but if you get a good holster you'll find you carry this pistol a lot because you'll trust it so much. At least that's the way I feel. It's a good price for what you get. An accurate pistol that will cycle your ammo and put your rounds on target if you can do your part.
