Its striker-fired action, polymer frame, 16+1 capacity, and competition-focused sight setup make it well suited for range use and practical competition. A fiber optic front sight pairs with an adjustable rear sight for a clear, configurable sight picture, while the XD-M safety system combines a trigger safety with a grip safety. The pistol includes two 16-round magazines.
