A 3.3-inch hammer-forged barrel provides a durable foundation, while the passive grip safety and trigger safety add layers of carry protection. I love my Springfield...
I love my Springfield XDS mod 2 in .45 ACP from Bud's! With the Gear Up package, I received four 6-round magazines, one 5-round magazine, the Crimson Trace CTS-1500 red dot, a soft carrying case for the pistol and a range bag. The pistol arrived from Bud's without the red dot installed, but I was able to install it myself with relative ease. This is my first experience with a red dot pistol, and I had my first opportunity to take it to the range and sight in the red dot yesterday. Sighting in the red dot was a painless and enjoyable process. Once I had the red dot zeroed, I was impressed with the accuracy of this pistol. I loaded up every magazine that came with the gun to test functionality and they all worked flawlessly. I ran three different types of FMJ and hollow point ammo through the gun and it fed everything with zero problems. Recoil with this pistol in .45 ACP is a bit hefty, but it felt very manageable with the excellent ergonomics of the Springfield XDS mod 2 design, it really feels great in the hand. The grip safety is naturally disengaged when you grip the pistol to fire, and I appreciate the added peace of mind it offers as I intend to add this pistol to my EDC rotation and I prefer appendix carry.

I have the 40 and the...
I have the 40 and the 9mm of the compact XDS and they are 100% great, but this 45 was too harsh for such a small pistol, it was actually painful to shoot... great firearm, not a great caliber for the size though.

Outstanding little...
Outstanding little hand cannon! I'm a huge fan of Springfield Armory products and this was no exception. The Crimson Trace left a little to be desired by not allowing the dot brightness to be manually adjusted. Overall I highly recommend this pistol!
