The XD safety system combines a trigger safety, grip safety, loaded chamber indicator, striker status indicator, and internal firing pin block for secure handling. Just back from the range. Excellent firearm. Light, accurate, well built. This is my second XD and I prefer this over the 4". Hostage shots at 50ft.? No problem. Feels great in the hand right away, which inspires confidence. Easy operation and breakdown. Tames the .40. This was my first gun purchase online and I used the layaway. No problems whatsoever. The Springfield XD40...
The Springfield XD40 Tactical package is everything you'll need to have a weapon that can be both for home protection and personal protection as well. I prefer the 5" barrel because it produces less recoil and gives better accuracy (my personal opinion on the accuracy). The weapon itself is virtually indestructible and it's really easy to clean. It has two specific safety features, a trigger safety as well as a grip safety, which personally I believe are better and quicker than an single safety release. It's a great weapon and I would recommend it to anybody.
