The Springfield Armory XD(M) Competition Series pistol is built around a long 5.25-inch match-grade barrel and extended slide to provide a longer sight radius, improved controllability, and enhanced accuracy for competition use. Its forged-steel slide features a Melonite finish and a lightening cut that reduces reciprocating mass for faster cycling. A fiber optic front sight and fully adjustable target rear sight support rapid sight acquisition and precise point-of-aim adjustments. The striker-fired design includes an integral trigger safety and grip safety, while the minimal-reset trigger and Mega-Lock frame texture provide a consistent shooting experience and a secure hold.
