This is a well made...
This is a well made pistol having exceptional accuracy right out of the box, but some tweaking is necessary for higher volume shooters. The slide stop caught on the plunger indent making disassembly/assembly difficult at times so I replaced that with a Wilson Combat slide stop that eliminated that problem. There was sporadic failure to extract - about 2% for first 400 rounds or so. I adjusted the extractor to provide correct tension and this held up for about 200 rounds before sporadic failure to extract issues arose again. I replaced the extractor with an Ed Brown extractor, adjusted the tension and after several hundred rounds have had no further extraction problems. For the price you cannot beat this pistol. Buds, as always was wonderful, excellent value and quick shipping.

The gun looks good,...
The gun looks good, I'll say that, but overall, I'm very unhappy with it for several reasons. First, the slide to frame fit is exceedingly loose (vertical and horizontal); when the gun is shaken, it rattles like an old military surplus 1911. I own a half dozen rather inexpensive 1911 commanders from various manufacturers and none of them are nearly as loose as this one. Next, the grip safety is very finicky. You have to hold the grip very tightly and in just a certain way in order to deactivate the safety, allowing you to pull the trigger. I'm constantly having to adjust my grip in order to shoot the thing, making for an aggravating range experience. And, lastly, the trigger pull is quite heavy -- so heavy, in fact, that it greatly impairs accuracy. On a final note, I have been buying and shooting handguns for 50-plus years, and never before have I purchased a firearm that I was as unhappy with as with this one.

First off this is my first order through Bud's and I was very pleased and I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future. This 1911 was exactly what I been wanting at a very good price. The walnut grips definitely make this firearm stand out with out losing any grip in my opinion. I have received multiple compliments on it even though it just a Taurus from other die hard 1911 owners. My only complaint is that I wish it would have came with two magazines out of the box.
