The Thompson Center Encore Pistol Hunter Package is a single-shot break-open pistol chambered for .308 Win and 7.62x51 NATO. Its interchangeable 15-inch button-rifled barrel is secured by a removable hinge pin, allowing the Encore platform to accept other compatible barrels. The pistol features a blue metal finish with a black rubber ambidextrous grip and matching forend, plus an adjustable trigger for overtravel. A 2.5-7x variable-power pistol scope, Weaver-style base and rings, and a soft carrying case are included for a ready-to-use hunting setup.

Wow what a beast! Came...
Wow what a beast! Came nicely packaged with the bag in the picture, lock and instructions. While mine did not appear dirty, after cleaning there was considerable necessity in doing so. Brought it to the range and held on tight, it stings a bit but nothing most experienced shooters couldn't handle. The closest thing I could compare it to is a 8" barrel 500 S&W but the recoil is not the same... it recoils sharp but does not push you back in the same manner. Hard to explain, its best suited to shoot off a rest if you ask me. Muzzle blast is considerable as well. Buds got this to me in a reasonable time period.
