Product Overview
The Walther P99C AS is a compact .40 S&W pistol built around Walther's Anti-Stress trigger system. Its traditional double-action first-shot capability combines with a longer Anti-Stress trigger travel to help reduce unintended discharges under stress, while subsequent shots use a shorter single-action reset for faster follow-up fire. The slide-mounted decocking button safely returns the striker to its decocked position, and the internal firing pin safety helps prevent an unintentional discharge. A polymer frame, compact dimensions, and three-dot sights make the P99C AS well suited to concealed carry and everyday defensive use.

Very good. The double...
Very good. The double action trigger is heavy but breaks clean. The single action trigger is very, very good with short reset.\r De-cock button can be pressed with either hand. Recoil very controllable, no tendency to raise up and out of the hand, even with hotter .40 loads.\r Worked with Fed HST 180 gr ammo. With 8+ capacity good conceal carry piece.

As a user of many...
As a user of many DA/SA pistols, it was nice to find a Walther with that same action. The P99c is a nice and small pistol, but not too small. Sometimes a gun that is concealable is also unshootable, at least not much fun to. This gun provides 40 S&W firepower in a very small package but remains fun to shoot. No matter if you use the flush fit for maximum concealment or the finger-rest mags, the capacity is a healthy 8 rounds, plus one in the chamber. This pistol has three modes of trigger: double action for a long heavy pull, single action for a short crisp break, and anti-stress for a long, light pull to the single action position, then on to the break. The slide mounted decocker is easy to use and unobtrusive and the cocking indicator at the rear is useful. As usual the P99 features Walther's quality fit and finish. For someone use to 9mm, 40 may seem more difficult to shoot but this gun handles it well. It honestly feels no worse than recoil from a micro-pistol in 9mm to me. This probably has to do with the double-spring recoil assembly and the gun weighing a little more. One thing to note is that the slide often shown in stock photos of the P99c in 40 are not accurate. The slide on the P99c in 40 looks much more like a PPQ shape than the P99 cut at the muzzle, and might not fit some P99c holsters. Search images of an actual gun online to see what I mean. As usual, Buds provides a good price and great service on an excellent firearm!
