I bought this Wilson...
I bought this Wilson Combat CQB 1911 chambered in .45 ACP from Bud's a few months ago. The attached target says it all about this handgun. Of the seven 1911 .45 ACPs that I own (with an 8th on order), the Wilson Combat rises about the rest - and I'm talking about Dan Wesson, Kimber, Springfield Armory 1911s, just to name a few. While all of these other higher-end 1911 .45 ACPs are great pistols in their own right, there is just something about the feel and handling of the Wilson Combat that makes it special. While I shoot pretty well with all of my 1911 .45 ACPs, I just shoot the best with this Wilson Combat CQB - it's a great handgun!

Beautiful handgun!...
Beautiful handgun! Tightly fit, extremely well finished. I was surprised to see that it came with the optional recessed and flush cut target crown. Mine did not have the magwell as pictured, but I expected that since that comes with the CQB Elite. Unlike the other reviewer, mine did not come with another recoil spring for light loads.

The Wilson CQB needs...
The Wilson CQB needs no introduction to those who can truly appreciate the beauty and functionality of a high-end 1911. In many ways, a Wilson Combat is THE high-end 1911. Here's why: Appearance-wise, this all-black version is flawless. Wilson Combat's Armor-Tuff coating is a flat, non-reflective finish. It is like a combination of black nitride/black cerakote. In other words, it doesn't have the slick, shiny look and feel you sometimes get from a traditional cerakote finish. The fixed rear "Battlesight" has a deep u-shape, and the fiber-optic front sight draws your eye (and keeps your aim) where it belongs. The slide has front and rear serrations, and the black slide matches-up with the black frame perfectly in fit and finish. The G10 Starburst grips are only slightly grippy, and therefore comfortable. The gold Wilson Combat medallion really pops against the all-black frame and slide. Front and rear grip stippling ensure a solid yet comfortable grip. I'm a lefty, so the tightly-fit ambi-safety is both necessary and much appreciated. Wilson's match trigger is still one of the best in the business. I would have preferred a full-length guide rod, but this is simply a personal preference and not a criticism. My package included a carrying case, an additional spring (for light loads), polymer bushing wrench, cleaning cloth, a quality control checklist, a test target, and a few more odds & ends. Rounding it out were two (2) of Wilson Combat's legendary 47D 8-round magazines. Quality. And how does it shoot? My first 200-round session was a pleasure. Function was smooth as glass, and trigger reset was audible and positive. No malfunctions whatsoever. ALL Wilson CQB's are guaranteed 1" at 25 yards. No additional charge. My research showed Buds price to be as competitive as anyone else. Many other dealers sell Wilson Combat handguns for much much more. Buy once. Cry once. Clean it and shoot it as often as you can. It's a Wilson Combat CQB. To quote Ferris Bueller: "It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."
