The Savage Arms stainless steel Target Action Set is a precision-oriented short-action bolt setup for standard caliber configurations. This action set includes the bolt assembly, AccuTrigger group assembly, barrel locknut, recoil lug, and trigger guard, so you can complete the build with a Savage receiver, barrel, and stock. Designed for right-bolt operation and a dual port for left loading and right ejection, it’s built around stainless steel components for corrosion resistance.

This target action...
This target action provided the most convenient means of building a target rifle quickly. Machining of the action is very precise and finished to an attractive luster that matched my barrel perfectly. The Savage action is extremely easy to set head space and to set up custom die settings. The action design does not complicate glass bedding into any rifle stock that you may choose. Trigger feel is light and precise and easily adjustable. I have built three rifles using this action and can attest to the accuracy that it can produce. Barrels and bolt heads can be interchanged to accommodate different calibers without much effort. Savage makes this action in both single and dual port versions, of which I own and have shot many rounds without a single malfunction of the action. Both of my .308 and 6mm BR are on their second barrels, but my .223 is still shooting it's original barrel. I am not a serious benchrest shooter, but can confidently shoot out to 600 yards with the rifles built on this action. This action was the most affordable choice for me in building my rifles.

I've bought 2 of these...
I've bought 2 of these over the years and will probably buy 4 more!!! they are a great foundation for a custom build Savage. I prefer the adjustability of the Palma stock but like odd ball rounds. so I have built a 6.5 x47 Lapua and a 6mm BR off of these actions with the factory Savage Palma stock. Now if only buds would carry those stocks I would be set!!!
