The Colt Python is a modern stainless-steel revolver built around the classic Python design. This 5-inch model features a bead-blast stainless steel finish, a recessed target crown, and a steel frame for durability. Its double-action/single-action operation supports both deliberate single-action fire and convenient double-action shooting. The revolver chambers .357 Mag and also accepts .38 Special cartridges. What a sweet and...
What a sweet and beautifully crafted firearm that you can truly say is fun to shoot. The only change I made is swapping out the softer black grips for exotic wood ones, but I will add that the grips that came with my purchase were perfectly fine; changing them out was solely an esthetic choice. Unlike some other reviewers I have no substantial complaints with the rear sight. Mine came almost spot on and was easy to adjust. I did use a little medium thread lock in hopes that I'd keep the tiny adjustment screw from working loose too soon. So far, so good. The stainless finish is both beautiful and flawless — as it is on my two other Colt "snake guns" in larger calibers. Trigger action in both single- and double-action is excellent for my tastes, and does nothing but enhance Colt's reputation for getting manufacturing tolerances both tight and right. As you might expect, especially if you shoot Colt's .44 magnum or .357 mag revolvers, as I do, this 10-round .22-caliber is light, easy to carry, and downright pleasurable to shoot. I carry mine regularly during walks around my 11 acres and do a lot of plinking — which this little baby is made for. It's an extra joy to know that you've acquired a heirloom item that'll eventually be handed down to the grandkids. I just hope that one day they enjoy this King Cobra as much as I am. An easy five stars for this little beauty.
