This is a favorite of mine. I like picking it up and looking at it. I have a think for the 45 long colt and cowboy-style pistol. This is a throw back pistol, having a spur on the hammer, so it is loaded with 5 rounds and the hammer rest on the empty cylinder. If the Indians attack, load all 6 shots, but for carry load 5.

I Love Pietta...
I Love Pietta Revolvers! I own two of these 1873 revolvers and they are both great. My first was a 357 magnum. I tested it with everything including Underwood180 grain hard cast and it handled just fine. The 45 has worked well with everything so far. The first thing you should do is file the bluing from the notches in the base pin so that recoil doesn't knock it loose then it's good to go.

I'm pretty happy with my purchase. I actually purchased 2 for cowboy action shooting. The action is smooth and it functions as it should. I have over 300 rounds through them. They shoot great. The only thing I don't like is the plastic grips. Hoping to find nicer grips for it. I would recommend this pistol for anyone who wants a peacemaker at a great price.
