Pietta's replica of...
Pietta's replica of this 1873 revolver is very well made. This is a solid and very tight firearm. The only exception I took was the .22cal models of this revolver is a 3 click hammer not a 4 like the original Colts. The other calibers that Pietta makes are 4 click. This is because in the .22cal models they use a striker plate system so that the cylinder can be fully loaded and unless the trigger is pulled back when the is hammer fully down the firing pin will not go forward and strike the primer. (A type of safety so you don't have to keep an empty chamber) When I got the gun home, I took it apart cleaned off any packing grease and examined for defects. The ejection rod is a square tapered rod and 2 of the edges were sharp so I took out, used emery cloth to smooth and used a bluing pen on it. Cleaned, oiled, assembled and got ready for the range the next day. Also, when putting in the cylinders you must line it up exactly to get the rod in because there is no slop in the machining of these parts. Went to the range the next day and at 25ft it shot 1 1/4" left and 1" low. Use a small brass hammer to tap the front blade to the left. (3 taps had it centered). Then I filed a little at a time off of the top of the front blade and brought it up to center. I shot 200rds of .22LR and 50rds of.22WMR. I had a lot of fun and .22LR is cheap. This is a great revolver, it has a good weight and balance and feels good in the hand. If you like single action revolvers, then I think you'll like this .22 because you can have a lot of fun and spend very little on ammo,

A really nice well-...
A really nice well-made 22 pistol, action is smooth, fit and finish is very good, has good rifling in the barrel and I haven't fired it yet, but if it shoots as good as it looks, it will be fine pistol, having the ability to shoot 22 magnum is really a plus and it is a full size 1873 revolver with a 10 round cylinder and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a excellent 22 revolver.
