Rock Island Armory M200 .38 Special Revolver, Medium Frame, Semi-Shrouded Barrel

A: Rock Island Armory says that the M200 can hand a "limited" diet of +p .38 Special Raymond. they are just not to be shot "all the time".

A: RIA say it is but its not expressly stated in writing see article https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2015/7/23/rock-island-armory-m206-38-special-revolver-review/

A: Yes. Since +P puts more stress on any firearm RIA doesn't recommend shooting +P all the time. Question #11 on FAQ's here : http://armscor.com/support-center/faqs/

A: Hi Raymond, Yes it is +P rated but I wouldn't run it through it all of the time.

A: The "Parkerized" finish is very durable James, much more so than the standard Factory Blueing. It will last.

A: Ralph, All firearms sold in the US must have a lock when shipped. Most are cable locks. There is no key lock on this firearm or trigger guard insert lock, just cable lock that must be shipped with all new firearms

A: it comes with a rock island branded cable lock that you use to prevent the cylinder from being closed. it does not include a trigger lock

A: Ralph, this comes with a cable lock and orange plastic chamber blocker. Unboxing video of exact contents here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAcuxqSqIGM

A: Stan, The RIA M200 is almost identical in dimensions to the Colt Police Positive (4") barrel. Big Daddy Holsters have exact fit holsters for the M200 depending on the carry style you want : https://www.bigdaddyholsters.com/manufacturer-and-model/armscor/m200-4-02-barrel/

A: the M200 is equivalent to the Colt Police Positive with the 4" barrel, and the M206 is the clone of the snub nose Detective Special. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=colt+police+positive+holster+4%22&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=colt+police+positive+holster

A: Hi Stan - Let me suggest this one a decent leather holster at a good price. https://www.amazon.com/Cal38CPP-Positive-Special-Handcrafted-Leather/dp/B06X167PFV

A: Mark, no, Semichrome metal polish is best for Chrome , aluminum and brass etc and not Blued Finishes. Wipe your blued pistol with a silicone impregnated cloth. Birchwood-Casey makes one that you should be able to get at Wally World. I like the Champion's Choice cloth, it is impregnated with a silicone fluid, not soaked, just a tad. Try the Birchwood-Casey, I think you'll like it. It will remove the surface marks (finger marks) and dust. Don't scrub with it, just wipe.

A: Mark, Just spray or put a little gun oil on a soft cloth and wipe the firearm down. If you need deeper cleaning a little Hoppes #9 or Remington Action Cleaner will clean. These are basically bore cleaners, but will clean powder and residue from outside of firearm also. Wipe it off then rub down and wipe off with gun oil, synthetic, lithium, or silicon. Don't make it harder then it is

A: I wipe mine down with a old bath towel and Rig universal gun grease https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/62371/birchwood+casey+40045+rig+gun+grease+firearm+grease+12+oz

A: Hi John the trigger pull is actually pretty nice. The accuracy is great on mine as well.

A: John, Double Action is 11.5 to 12lbs and Single Action is around 4lbs. Double Action is long. A few rounds and a good clean/lube will improve it somewhat. A very detailed review is here : https://www.guns.com/news/review/gun-review-rock-island-armory-m200-revolver-in-38-special
