This has been a great...
This has been a great handgun, and ironically it seems that the high pressure 10mm Auto cartridge is uniquely well-suited to this single action format. It has much less recoil and blast than my 44 Super Blackhawk, and weighs 6 ounces less (48 vs 42 ounces). It burns only 8.2 - 8.3 grs of IMR 800-X with a 200 grain hollow point to generate 1165-1200 fps vs almost 24 grs of WW296 for a max load in the 44. At 77 yds from my deer stand it'll keep all shots on an 8.5x11" sheet of paper, likely because of its great 3# trigger. The only negative is a barrel cylinder gap of .007" which lowers velocity by 30 fps compared to my Colt Delta Elite with the same handloads. This gun even did well with cowboy-action style rapid fire using UMC factory 180 grain loads that chronographed at 1110 fps. Given how little powder the 10mm burns relative to the 357/41/44 magnums, I think the 4 5/8" barrel is plenty long, and it carries great in a chest holster out in the woods. Great hunting power, low recoil, very accurate, low blast—this is one of the best handguns I've ever tried or owned. Thanks Buds for offering this gem.

GREAT RUGER...
GREAT RUGER QUALITY,FIT AND FINISH,,AND A GREAT SHOOTER.WITH BOTH CYL'S 10MM AND 40CAL A SLIGHT CHANGE OF SIGHT PICTURE FROM THE 10MM TO THE 40CAL IS OBVIOUS DUE TO THE SHORT CHARGE OF THE 40 CAL'S,BUT THE WEIGHT OF THE GUN ALMOST NEGATES THE 40 RECOIL,AND TAMES THE 10MM.I THINK THESE DUAL CLY HANDGUNS ARE A FANTASTIC BUY, AND YOU ONLY HAVE TO BRING 1 GUN AND 2 DIFFERENT CAL'S AMMO TO THE RANGE. BUY IT DO NOT WAIT!!!

Ordered this gun on a...
Ordered this gun on a Sunday afternoon. It was delivered on Wednesday, excellent service from Bud's. The gun itself, I think had some negatives. The stocks could have been fitted better, they had frame outline most of the way around. The loading gate was horribly stiff to open and finally galled and refused to do so. Lubrication helped. Much more tension on the hammer spring than necessary, and of course, typical Ruger creep in the trigger. Disassembled the gun and the loading gate spring was addressed along with the hammer spring. Also, trigger creep. These are all cosmetic things that can be fixed. The things that can't is the machining. The chambers were superb with nice polish. More importantly all six chambers measured .403, plus or minus 0. Turning to the barrel it mesures .4015, excellent. These dimensions allow for excellent cast bullet accuracy, which it exhibited by overlapping bullet holes at twenty yards. All in all, after addressing the things I didn't like, I am very pleased with the gun.
