Description
Product Overview
The Ruger GP100 Half Lug is a stainless steel double-action revolver chambered in .44 Special. Its 5-inch half-lug barrel and unfluted cylinder give it a distinctive configuration, while the smooth walnut grip provides a classic appearance and comfortable handling. A gold bead front sight pairs with an adjustable rear sight for practical aiming flexibility, and the transfer-bar safety helps prevent the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is deliberately pressed. The five-shot cylinder and robust GP100 frame make this revolver well suited for range use, field carry, and personal defense.

I'm a sucker for...
I'm a sucker for smooth cylinder large caliber revolvers. This gun handles well after I changed out the smooth grips for LS grips and custom color insert. Recoil is mild with 200gr swc for plinking. Holster selection will have you looking for a bit for just the right one. But all in all I really am happy with the quality and build and handling. Of note: if you screw the rear sight screw down too far you will lock up the gun cylinder and think there is something wrong; I almost sent it back before I noticed a ring around back of cylinder and seen sight screw. Engineering flaw but easy fix.

Was super excited to...
Was super excited to receive this gun initially. Upon picking the gun up out of the box, the front ramp sight fell off!!! Literally just picked up out of box and sight fell off.Awaiting response from Ruger, but am truly disappointed if this is what Ruger quality is for a thousand dollar handgun.
