PLEASE READ BEFORE...
PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!!!! My desire for a Wiley Clapp sp101 started a year ago after handling one at my LGS, but couldn't afford the steep $900 price tag. Boy was I excited when I saw the price dip down to $590 here on Buds one day this past fall. It was a dream come true. However the old add-age of too good to be true applied to this purchase. The gun arrived at my FFL and looked nothing like the quality of revolver I had seen at my LGS. There were moderately deep machine marks, nicks, scratches, rust spots all over the revolver. After pulling off the grips, I noted a date of manufacture of 12/23/23. That annoyed me to have a year old, end of the year, rushed built revolver. Additionally the revolver had an enormous amount of grit in the trigger, increased end shake in the cylinder, an unevenly cut channel for the hammer, and intermittent cylinder binding on the frame. At the range the revolver shot fairly accurate, soaked 357 recoil and ran flawless with 38 special but the cylinder would bind w/ 357 mag loads. It took days of sanding, deburring, polishing, dry firing and use of shims/spring kits to get this revolver to an acceptable state. It now fires w/o binding, has an ok appearance, and decent trigger. In summary: not worth 830 bucks to risk getting a crappy example of a revolver like I did . At that price bracket go with the much better quality Kimber, Colt or S&W. Buds customer service was 5/5, the Wiley Sp101 was 3/5 but only because I paid 590. It would be 1/5 if I had paid the current asking price.

Love this gun! It's...
Love this gun! It's built like an absolute tank. Smooth shooter but will pound your hands at the range. It's just a great revolver and perfect for the nightstand. Everyone needs a good revolver so do yourself a favor and get this one.

I have read a lot...
I have read a lot about this gun and looked forward to receiving it. The gun came and was a beautiful example of a snub nose revolver. I own another Rugef revolver and this gun fully met my expectations. I read that the trigger came from the factory with a hefty pull. I measured 11 1/2 lbs. I did a full trigger job including springs, polishing, and spacers and now have a great EDC.
