Nice revolver. Very lightweight. 22 mag makes a big noise and accurate at close range. Trigger heavy pull, but would be difficult to accidentally fire. Great backup gun.

Overall size, weight, and capacity is good. But the trigger is awful! So heavy that it actually hurts to pull it multiple times. S&W needs to go back the drawing board and redo the trigger. It should not be this heavy and or need an aftermarket spring kit to make it shootable. If Ruger can do with their LCR .22 there's no reason S&W can't. Luckily I've had a 642 in the past and know how to change the springs. I would not recommend this to any beginner or new gun owner.
