The Smith & Wesson Model 642 Mag-Na-Ported is a lightweight J-Frame revolver chambered in .38 Special +P. Its anodized aluminum frame and matte stainless steel cylinder help keep the revolver compact and easy to carry, while the internal hammer provides a snag-resistant double-action-only design. The 1 7/8-inch barrel features factory Mag-Na-Porting, and the integral front sight pairs with a square-notch rear sight for a practical sighting system. A wood grip completes the Matte Silver configuration.

Bud's was flawless on the transaction from start to finish!!!!! I purchased this revolver as a conversation piece mainly as I have NOT seen a ported j-frame before. I wrestled with the decision of 642 or 442 and finally decided on the 642 and glad I did. I have received NUMEROUS compliments on this snubbie from friends, family and range attendants. As for the shooting of this 642...shoots like a dream!! and I sent PMC 158gr JSP's, Remington 125gr SJHP +P and a few Speer Gold Dot 125gr JHP +P down range with VERY MANAGEABLE RECOIL...no doubt due to the porting.
