I ordered Rimz made of...
I ordered Rimz made of heavy duty plastic for loading the 45ACP cartridges instead of using the metal moon clips from S&W.Rimz work great for loading and no tool is needed to demoon the spent cartridges. The revolver action is really smooth in double action and real nice in single. I fired off about sixty rounds of my reloads . The FMJ rounds were better for accuracy than my wadcutters and accuracy improved with each shot fired. This is hoot to shoot and I will put on the rubber grips supplied by S&W. This revolver will definatly become one of my favorites. If you are recoil sensitive buy the heavier Smiths offered by BUDS.

I finally received a...
I finally received a reply from Smith & Wesson in regards to shooting .45 Supers through this gun. He said he had never heard of them but if they were more powerful than .45 +P's to NOT shoot them out of it. He said that anything more than +P's would prematurely erode the forcing cone and barrel. He went on to say he didn't recommend a steady diet of +P's--to only use them occasionally or when hunting. He said to shoot just plain old standard .45 regular loads and that I would have a lifetime of useage from the thing. Hope this helps if anybody has one and is tempted to shoot +P's or try .45 Supers.

Ordered this gun on 19...
Ordered this gun on 19 Oct and got it about a week and a 1/2 later. Finally got around to shooting it this last Friday (13 Nov 09). Was shooting 185 grain Golden Saber+Ps from a bench rest and the target was 50 yards away (used a Leupold RX-750 rangefinder to verify distance). Used the stock hiviz sights and was amazed--this was not my first pistol with hiviz sights but is the most accurate. Shot 3 cylinders full of the GS's--each group was consistently 6" or less at 50 yards. This is the most accurate pistol I have ever shot using the stock sights--have a 460 XVR with a Leupold 2.5X8 scope that will do all 5 shots in 3" or less from a rest at 100 yards but that's a different story. I had never shot a pistol that used the moon clips and had no idea what they were or what to expect but now am hooked on them and prefer them over standard loading S&W revolvers. Recoil was way less than any of my five 1911 45 ACPs, (3 Kimbers, 1 ParaOrdinance, and 1 Norinco) even though each one of them weighs more than the M325PD. Wooden grips were not that uncomfortable and were so tolerable I'm going to stick with them--forget the pacmeyers or hogues. I ordered 5 packs of Wilson Combat moon clips thinking that each pack had 1 clip per pack (did't say in advertisement)--WRONG. There were 5 clips per pack and S&W packed 5 clips with the gun so I now have a total of 30 moon clips. VERY pleased with the gun, looks and performance wise--wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. I had one of my 1911s modified to shoot 45 Supers (makes a 45 ACP about equivalent to a 41 magnum). I emailed S&W to find out if I could shoot the 45 Supers in the M325PD--have yet to hear back from them but if the gun is as strong as S&W touts it to be I can't see why not.
