Best carry gun in my...
Best carry gun in my opinion HANDS DOWN. Im not a huge fan of the grips but ordered some rosewood for it and this thing blows me away every time. The feel and finish is on point. Not to mention the fact that it is constantly shocking me how accurate it is. My wife has one to and even for her its easy to handle and fairly easy to conceal. Each time we get the targets out to shoot she drains my bank account in ammo because she likes it so much. Even after letting her shoot a bunch of my other guns she always says she wants to go back to this one. So far i have bought two and have convinced a couple other people to get one after showing em mine. If you're on the fence just get it. If youre anything like me it will be one of your favorites.

5th Taurus small frame...
5th Taurus small frame I've purchased. I sold one, got another, sold that, then ended up with a 2" UL and 3" steel 856 and a 2" 942 UL. Go figure. You know how it is. This 856 UL has a milled front sight, NOT pinned, it is not replaceable. The barrel on this 2" AND my 3" appear to be just out of perfect clock by a little to the right when viewed from the shooter's perspective. The sights do appear straight and level when aiming. It's almost impossible to see unless you look for other cues. The ratchet is less brutalized with a grinder than some Taurus ratchets Ive seen, and the gun has typically Taurus heavy (although easily staged) double action and decent 5 lb-ish single action. Tiny bit of front-to-back play of the cylinder as it lies in the yoke, swung out or not. Tiny bit of play to the cylinder rotationally even when cocked, which is typical of examples of the 856. The rifling and crown in the muzzle end of the steel barrel insert looks crisp and clean and well-done, unlike my all-steel 3". As long as you are cool with a bit of less refined "fit&finish," and a manly trigger pull, the 856 2" UL is a solid budget choice with one more round than a J-frame.
