The 2A Armament Aethon is a matched upper and lower receiver set for building a lightweight AR-15 style rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO. Both receivers are three-dimensionally machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum, combining structural strength with reduced weight. The lower receiver weighs 6.8 ounces and the upper receiver weighs 6.9 ounces, for a combined receiver weight of 13.7 ounces. This receiver set does not include a barrel, fire-control group, stock, grip, sights, or magazine, allowing the builder to select compatible components for the intended configuration.
