The Auto Ordnance Thompson 1927A-1 Deluxe is a semi-automatic rifle that reproduces the classic Thompson design in a modern civilian configuration. Chambered in .45 ACP, it features a 16.5-inch finned barrel with a permanently affixed Cutts compensator, a blued steel receiver and frame, and American walnut furniture. The fixed buttstock, pistol grip, and vertical foregrip provide the traditional Thompson profile, while the blade front sight and open adjustable rear sight support practical target acquisition. One 20-round stick magazine is included.

This Thompson rifle is...
This Thompson rifle is one of my favorites to take to the range and just have some fun with. I train a lot but sometimes I just need to have fun and this gun brings that. That said the magazines can suck and they are expensive. The drums run flawlessly if you wind them correct. Some of the 20 round magazines I got were out of spec and didn't feed well. The gun itself also seemed to have a break in. I am not sure if this was the gun or the magazines. But now I can take it out and shoot without any problems unfortunately I had to trash two 70 dollar magazines. Definitely go for the 14.5 barrel version. It just feels a little more authentic.

This gun is the real...
This gun is the real deal! I believe this recreation is as close to the real thing as you can get. The differences are, the original had a 10" barrel (you can get that but you will need a SBR permit) this has a closed bolt design. (The original had an open bolt design). The original had a selector switch for auto and semi-auto. This gun is only semi-auto. This gun has NO plastic on it whatsoever! Wood and steel just like the original! It's a great gun and fun to shoot. If your looking to be the center of attention at your local gun range, this gun will do that for you! With the 100 round drum and the very unique report (Chicago typewriter) you will draw plenty of attention. A must have for any serious collector that can't afford the real thing.
