The Barrett REC7 Gen II Carbine is a durable 5.56 NATO semi-automatic rifle built around a short-stroke piston operating system. Its piston system keeps heat and powder residue away from the bolt carrier and trigger assembly, helping the rifle run cleaner and reducing routine maintenance. The cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel features a 1:7 twist and is paired with a free-float KeyMod handguard for consistent accuracy. Forged aluminum receivers receive a Green Cerakote finish, while the Geissele SSA trigger, Magpul six-position stock, flip-up iron sights, and full-length top rail provide a practical, adaptable configuration. The rifle includes two 30-round magazines and a soft carrying case.

Not a recreation or military almost Rifle. Serious firearm purchased for my future generations thanks to Buds 180 day plan,, Reliable Enhanced Carbine "REC7"gas-piston delivers as Barrett advertised.. As lowest maintenance an incentive. easy field clean ,Compared to other AR no details left out, a military grade firearm for civilians like Gas pin is engraved "U" and "S", The future REC10 308 should be the formidable upgrade to the USA military . Neg: costly today but cheaper than tomorrow, (buying the firearm not the assesories), only one magazine, no Barrett bag , steel sights if used but not locking, Magpul grip lid unattached losable and not water sealed (but has magpul inserts available),Not ambi control, gas piston action still uses stock spring( not collapsible)
