The Browning BLR Lightweight Stainless combines the handling of a traditional lever action rifle with the strength and versatility of modern sporting-rifle features. Chambered in .30-06 Springfield, it uses a detachable four-round box magazine that accommodates pointed bullets for improved ballistic performance compared with traditional flat-nose lever-action ammunition. Its 22-inch sporter-contour barrel and rotating-bolt action support dependable field performance, while the aluminum alloy receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting. A black walnut stock with cut checkering provides a secure, classic hunting feel, complemented by a satin nickel receiver and matte stainless barrel.

You cannot go wrong...
You cannot go wrong with Browning guns because they are so well made, pistols and rifles. They are well made, function great, look really nice and Browning seems to stay ahead of the curve amongst other manufactures producing guns that my children will even be proud to own. The only thing I hate is the wood is so nice and I am so rough sometimes hunting with it I'm afraid to scratch it. I have been leaning towards composite stocks because they don't scratch and I believe lighter in weight. I have been leaning towards fiber optic sights because as I get older I find fiber optic increases my ability to see the front sight and that's critical when using open sights, especially if there are two fiber optic dots on the rear sight to help me quickly line up windage and elevation for that quick shot.

Action was pretty...
Action was pretty stiff when I first got it. After about 150 rounds and just messing around the lever is now very smooth and crisp. Mounted a 4-12x scope and it shoots 1.5 moa no problem with standard ammo. Very light too, easily carried in the field all day with a sling. Word of warning though, shooting this thing from a rested position will absolutely kill your shoulder, it kicks worse than any other gun i've shot besides a single shot 12 gauge with 3" magnum slugs. Shooting from standing or crouched is fine though.

Have not fired yet but wanted to emphasize on the prompt shipping and handling of the product and it's condition upon arrival.
