The Christensen Arms Mesa FFT Subalpine is a lightweight bolt-action rifle chambered in .300 Win Mag. Its 22-inch 416R stainless steel barrel is hand lapped, free floating, and fitted with a match-grade chamber for consistent accuracy. The barrel has a 1:10 twist and a 5/8x24 threaded muzzle with a seamless radial muzzle brake. A carbon fiber composite FFT stock finished in Sitka Elevated II Camo keeps weight low while stainless steel pillars, spot bedding, and a recoil pad support stability and shooting comfort. The rifle also features a premium trigger, spiral-fluted Nitride-treated bolt, M16-style extractor, billet aluminum bottom metal, and a three-round hinged floorplate magazine system.

I bought this rifle to...
I bought this rifle to use for an upcoming Aoudad Sheep hunt in Texas. I wanted something that would be as light as possible due to the constant hiking in the mountains required for this hunt and I certainly found that in the Mesa model. The recoil is stiff, as expected with a rifle this light. I added a Magpul bipod and a Vortex Viper 6-25x scope and she's good to go. My only disappointment with the gun is how slick the stock is. There is very little grip and I am concerned about the handling in wet weather so I added some Talon grip tape patches in a few areas.
