The Colt Competition Expert CRE-18 is a match-oriented AR-15-style rifle built around an 18-inch match-grade stainless steel barrel with six-groove button rifling and a 1:8 right-hand twist. Its .223 Wylde chamber accepts both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition. A rifle-length gas system, low-profile gas block, Colt custom muzzle brake, and Hogue free-floating handguard support consistent handling and accuracy. The forged receivers feature a flat-top Picatinny rail for mounting an optic, while the nickel-Teflon-coated match trigger, Magpul adjustable stock, Hogue grip, and 30-round magazine complete the competition-focused configuration.
