The Colt Competition CRE-18 Gen 2 Expert Series is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for 5.56 NATO and compatible with .223 Remington ammunition. Hand built in the United States, it combines a gas-operated direct-impingement system with an 18-inch mid-weight match-grade, air-gaged and polished 416 stainless-steel barrel. The barrel uses six-groove button rifling with a 1:8 right-hand twist and a 1/2x28 threaded muzzle fitted with a Twin-Port muzzle brake. A Magpul four-position adjustable stock, Hogue rubber finger-groove grip and enlarged Magpul trigger guard improve handling, while the flat-top receiver supports the installation of an optic. The rifle includes one 30-round Magpul magazine.
