Killed a deer with...
Killed a deer with this rifle the first time I had it in the woods, with a 240 XTP handload at 110 yards- DRT. Photo here was taken in the stand about an hour before I took the shot. These rifles in .44 Mag tend to be more accurate with heavier bullets- mine is most accurate with Sierra 300 JSP- an email exchange with Sierra pointed out those bullets are designed with big bears in mind and likely would not expand on whitetails so I ruled that out as a hunting bullet. 300 XTPs grouped -OK-, but the 240 XTP was better than that and the Sierra 250 JHP. Pros of the rifle: Excellent trigger, fairly lightweight, easy to shoot, accurate with the right load. Cons- The lever/trigger guard can be a pain at times, making it hard to open the action. My wife has a Scout in .350 Legend that does not have this issue- a tip I picked up is to have the lever pulled back when you close the action- that, and greasing the moving parts of the latch you can reach, has helped. That's the only negative I have on this rifle. I'd give it 5 stars were it not for that. No issues with Buds- I will say though, that while using the electronic check option does save a few bucks, it delays shipping by about a week. Not a problem if you buy a hunting rifle in the summer as I did with this one, but if you are wanting to get something for Christmas and want to be able to hunt with it this season, just pay the few extra bucks and use a credit card.

I have only shot mine...
I have only shot mine a little bit. It is much better quality than you might expect from a lower cost single shot. When I picked it up it was very hard to open but cleaning out the grease and oiling it made it better immediately. It was even easier to open after firing 50 rounds. The trigger is incredibly good for a stock gun with no work done on it. I think it got a little lighter after 50 rounds. The hammer is very hard to pull back, harder than any other hammer I have. The weight is actually 7 pounds for the 22 44mag takedown and the length is actually 37 inches. So the specifications shown by Buds are a bit off. It's a wonderful rifle and very glad I got it and happy with Bud's.
