Great little rifle. I own several CZ pistols but, this is my first CZ rifle. So far I'm really liking this gun, I'm still just now breaking it in....

Just received my CZ...
Just received my CZ 455 VARMINT EVOLUTION 22LR last week first trip to the range with it, after a very light break in ( less than 100 rounds ) the rifle is shooting sub MOA with CCI standard velocity ammo. Very pleased. Can't wait to try it after pillar and glass bedding the action. Good service from Bud's, this is my second firearms purchase from them.

Right out of the box...
Right out of the box this rifle was putting up many sub-moa groups at 50 and 100 yards. Although the experts will tell you that all 22lr rifle barrels will vary in accuracy, I can tell you that mine is dead on, and shoots just about as good as my friends $2000+ Cooper. I had some doubts as to how much I would like the evolution stock, but decided to go with it due to the angle of the hand grip area and the fact that it is completely ambidexterous. Home run on both issues, it is comfortable at the shoulder and in the hand. As an aside it didn't hurt that several other shooters came down the line to look it over and pronounced it to be beautiful to boot, but the looks are love it or hate it, and I have fallen into the former category. I ran several different ammos through it and happily it seems to like inexpensive CCI standard velocity just about as much as Eley target and Eley match. At some points they all went sub-moa with one 1/2 moa group as well at 50 yards. I doubt that I can shoot much better, but I will try a number of other brands and grades, because if it can shoot anything better than what it has done already, single holes are going to be a regular event. The family is giving me a Lilja match grade 17hmr barrel for Christmas and I can't wait to see what those little darts will do out of this baby. My other CZ455 American has seen several barrel switches and it only makes the system more fun. The only negative thing I can come up with is that I like to shoot from a bipod and there is no front swivel stud, but a drill and some patience took care of that. I went with a stud that has a metal base which I epoxied into the stock because I fear that a self threading stud might be bad for the laminated stock. Unless you are mechanically inept, this is a mere inconvenience. I also recommend a Yo Dave trigger which I used to get the very good stock trigger down to 1 pound with zero creep. In summary, buy this rifle especially at Bud's price deal. Then put decent glass on it because you are going to shoot this gun a lot. You won't regret it
