I've had this rifle...
I've had this rifle for a while now and will give you my impressions so far. I bought it because I wanted a bolt rifle in .223 for hunting coyotes. I already own a CZ 455 in .17 HMR and was extremely impressed with that rifle so I bought this one hoping for a repeat in satisfaction. I mounted a Vortex Diamondback 4-16 scope on it using the rings that came with it. On the positive side, the stock is gorgeous and the finish of the rifle is really nice. The mauser action works great so there isn't much more to say about it. The safety takes getting used to because it is different than most American hunting rifles, but after a couple of days you get used to it and forget about it. The best part is the trigger. It is superb. I've never had a stock trigger as nice as the one that comes with a CZ rifle. I wish they were all this good (my Browning X-bolt comes close). On the negative side, I'm a bit disappointed with the accuracy. I'm consistently shooting 1 1/4" groups at 100 yards but for this kind of rifle I was hoping for more like 1/2". I've been experimenting with a wide range of ammo to see if one will be the secret sauce for this rifle. Strangely my best results so far have been with Hornady Steel Match 75 gr BTHP, where I was finally able to score a 1/2" group (mostly around 1" though). A close second was Hornady Black also in 75 gr BTHP. And a close third was Sellier & Bellot 55 gr that I bought in a 1000 round case lot years ago. Go figure! Other match ammo and bulk ammos that I have tried tend to blow up with much bigger groups of 1 1/2" - 2" or more. I like the rifle and plan to keep it. I think I'll find the right ammo for it and don't mind if it is premium ammo given the volume of fire I'll put through it. I just wasn't expecting to work this hard to make it into a tack-driver like my .17HMR.

Just received my cz...
Just received my cz 527 in .223 tonight. Although my stock was not quite as pretty as some I've handled, I found it to be quite accurate for the handloads I built using some leftover components. I used the hornady manual, 60 grain hornady soft points, cci primers, 22.8 grains of ar-comp, and Winchester brass. Groups were 3/8 inch to 5/8. 5 shots off sandbags, 50 yards. Sorry, my home range is only 50 yards. Can't wait to test this rig at 100-500 yards with more time to figure out the recipe it likes. The set trigger breaks so easily it suprised my family members when it went off, we all took turns trying it out. I ordered from buds on a Sunday night, received the rifle on a Thursday afternoon. So I'm happy with buds. The first round is kinda sticky to get it chambered. And the bolt is pretty tight, but it seemed to start loosening up after just 50 rounds. I'm sure it will break in nicely. At about 40 rounds in, I had problems with the sear resetting, so I removed the stock and examined the trigger. After a few turns of a small wrench and a few turns of little screwdriver, it was running again. This trigger has all kinds of ways to adjust it. Overall, I'm very happy. One of my family members liked it so much he offered to buy it from me on the spot for everything I got invested in it, gun and leupold vx3. Anyway, this is a great firearm, I'm keeping it.

Shoots great as it...
Shoots great as it looks. Scope didn't make it. Took it off and put on a 4X12X40 vortex. The bolt is very stiff and doesn't slide very easy. From what I have found with talking to CZ and CZ guys on CZ form normal until it's broken in. Great shooting and plan on having it a long time. Grandson just got lucky and doesn't even know it.
