Deadly accurate smooth...
Deadly accurate smooth action everything you need in a hunting rifle. The gun is a little on the heavy side so before you buy make sure it suits your hunting needs.

Esthetically the UHR...
Esthetically the UHR is a beautiful rifle. Nice wood. Deep satin blue finish. Fit and finish of the wood to metal is great. Functionally it has been fantastically disappointing. I bought this rifle because of the " 1 MOA at 600 yards" guarantee. After over 100 rounds it's time to call C-Z Warranty department. Only 2 groups came anywhere close to 1 MOA at 100 yards and none we smaller than about 1 1/2. Several groups were in the 4 MOA range at 100 yards Twice the front action bolt was found to be loose after 15 or 20 rounds, causing major variation. I used two different scopes hoping the optic was the problem but found it was not. The gun was regularly cleaned every 10 to 15 shots and most often I used a stop watch to insure I waited at least 5 minutes between shots to avoid overheating the barrel. I'm not the best shot around, but I do shoot regularly. I have an H.S. Precision 7mm Rem Mag that will hold less then 1 moa consistently (with several different loads), as well as a Remington 30-06, Kimber 7mm-08, .Ruger 308 and several Sako .223's that will all significantly out perform this CZ. I shoot from a concrete shooting bench at our gun club using a forend rest with windage tray and a Protektor rabbit ear rear bag. The trigger is much less than I had expected. The feel of the trigger mechanism during firing is rough. Without using the "set" feature, at 3 lbs pull I can feel 4 distinct stages of movement during the trigger pull; apply pressure, slip a little and stop, more pressure, another slip and stop etc. When enough pressure is reached at the 4th stage it goes bang (finally). Overtravel is set properly in this mode. When using the "set" feature on the trigger the trigger position is uncomfortably far forward. "Feel" of the squeeze is compromised by the location and there is a tremendous amount of overtravel when the trigger breaks using the "set" mode. In an attempt to set the "set" trigger light enough to hopefully improve groups, I had two instances where I chambered a round, engaged the safety, set the trigger, aligned the reticle on target and then had the gun fire when I disengaged the safety. If the safety was not used, the set trigger would hold it's set. I increased the trigger pull to avoid this in the future. I will definitely be contacting CZ Warranty for a return authorization. If they can fix the accuracy issues I can learn to live with the trigger or have my gunsmith tune and smooth it.
