The rifle features a matte black hard coat anodized finish, DD Soft Touch furniture, a collapsible stock, and an ambidextrous two-position thumb safety. The threaded muzzle uses a 1/2x28 pattern and is fitted with a Daniel Defense flash hider. Chambered for 5.56 NATO and compatible with .223 Remington ammunition, the DD4 RIII has a 32+1 capacity and includes one 32-round magazine. It is supplied without sights, allowing the user to select an optic or sighting system.
