A: Jeff, you're correct. Not sure why alot of manufacturers do it this way. So you would have to purchase a rear sight separately. Hope this helps.

A: Jeff, I've noticed alot of ARs with the a2 furniture do it this way, not sure why. Personally not fond of this design. If you ever want to add an optic you have to remove or cut the front sight post. As for a rear sight it's hard to beat Magpul mbus sights. Here's a link to one of interested.
