Product Overview
The DPMS GII MOE is a lightweight AR-style rifle chambered in .308 Winchester and compatible with 7.62x51 NATO ammunition. Its direct gas impingement system operates from forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers with a Type III hardcoat anodized and Teflon-coated matte black finish. The 16-inch chrome-lined 4150 steel barrel provides a practical balance of handling and performance, while the Magpul MOE handguard, pistol grip, and six-position collapsible stock offer a familiar, adaptable setup. A fixed front sight base and Magpul MBUS rear sight provide an effective sighting system, and the flat-top upper receiver includes a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail for mounting an optic.

After looking at the...
After looking at the G2 rifles: Oracle, AP4, MOE and Recon I settled on the MOE. The Oracle is too basic, AP4 good if you want a light weight barrel but GI furniture, Recon is ready to go but a little heavier. MOE was Goldylocks for me. Magpul furniture with the light weight chrome lined barrel and muzzlebrake. Added my own Midwest Industries light freefloat handguard to create a light weight Recon. This is a great rifle....
This is a great rifle. It's exceptionally handy for a 308, points very naturally shoots great. My only real complaint would be the trigger guard. I'm not a fan of the guard being milled into the lower and would prefer one that I could switch out. But that's really about it. The fit and finish are good, it has run reliably, it shoots accurately, and recoils softly. I think DPMS has a real winner with this rifle.
