Product Overview
The DPMS Panther TAC 20 is a .308 Win and 7.62x51 NATO semi-automatic rifle built around a forged 7075-T6 receiver set. Its 20-inch heavyweight 4140 chrome-moly barrel uses a rifle-length gas system and a 1:10 twist rate for a stable platform suited to range use and precision-oriented shooting. A free-float quad rail provides flexible accessory mounting, while the fixed A2 stock and A2 pistol grip maintain a familiar rifle configuration. The A3 flattop upper receiver accepts modern optics, and the removable carry handle works with the fixed A2-style front sight for traditional aiming. A DPMS Phantom-style flash hider completes the black-finished rifle.

When this rifle...
When this rifle arrived at my FFL, the BCG was literally stuck in the rearward position. But, because I had this product on layaway, I went through with the transfer anyway. I figured I knew enough about ARs to fix the issue myself. That's the ONLY reason for 4 out 5 star rating. This rifle is an absolute tack driver! At 100yds, I've achieved 1.5" groupings consistently with Winchester 150gr PowerMax. However, this rifle is meant to reach out much farther ie., 300-800yds. The free-float 20-inch barrel has a heavy aluminum quad rail around it and is a bit much if you plan to run & gun. But, if your application is bench shooting, it'll be great with a decent bipod. Overall, I would give the functionality and accuracy (100yds) of this rifle 5 stars. Weight and factory trigger aren't bad. But, if you have the money to change a few things, I'd suggest installing a JP Enterprise BCG, Magpul PRS buttstock, Timney trigger, and a bipod. This has become my favorite range rifle. So much so that reloading has become a must! LOL
