The FightLite Industries SCR lower receiver assembly provides the foundation for a compatible SCR rifle build in a sporter stock configuration. This black assembly includes the lower receiver, sporter stock, bolt carrier, bolt carrier strut, and pin. It uses a semi-automatic action and is designed for compatibility with AR-15 pattern magazines and appropriate SCR components. This is a lower receiver assembly only and does not include a barrel, upper receiver, sights, or magazine.

What a great idea to...
What a great idea to break the cycle of everything having to conform to this post-modern "tacticool" image! While I appreciate the AR pattern rifle as issued, I really prefer the more sleek, compact profile of the classic rifle. This stock unit gives you that perfectly. It gives you all the good things about an AR-15 in a better package for carry and packing. The complete stock unit is extremely light, and length of pull seems a bit shorter than most American shooters prefer, but perfectly suited to a compact, slim-line carbine profile. The FCG is proprietary to Fightlite, but seems to work with equal functionality to the AR version. The only thing I don't really care for is the cross-bolt safety located behind the trigger guard, though it's exactly like thousands of sporting rifles made over the years. Trigger pull is reasonable and crisp. Finish is matte black with clear markings - this is a quality manufactured piece! The stock unit comes with a proprietary bolt carrier purpose-built to adapt a standard AR upper to the slimline lower. Because the "rat-tail" hinged to the rear of the shortened bolt carrier must index into the cup of the recoil spring unit housed in the stock, assembly is not typical AR. Instead, the upper is mated flush to the lower and slide back while aligning the rat-tail with the recoil unit cup and both halves are pushed fully together, then the front and rear pins are locked in place. Disassembly is the reverse - push out BOTH pins and allow the upper to slide forward on the lower before lifting off. The Fightlite lower takes standard AR magazines, but with an abbreviated magazine well perfectly in keeping with the more compact lines of the assembled rifle. For this reason there may be more fore and aft magazine play, especially with larger, heavier magazines, but so far I've had no problem. The only negative is the price. Just the lower assembly costs roughly the same as a fully assembled AR-15 at current prices (2019), which means Fightlite is facing an uphill battle to lure customers not living in States where this has become the answer to registration and ban schemes. Otherwise, this unit transforms an AR pattern into the sleekness of a Mini-14 while retaining all the good things for which you bought the AR!

This Fightlite lower...
This Fightlite lower is going to part of a custom build using a Boyd's Remington 1100 stock and an Aero Precision 20" 223 Wylde upper. The lower is nicely built and I'll update the review when I can get it to the range. Can't wait to put it all together...and I literally don't have to. I do quite a bit of shopping at Buds and I have to say they out did themselves this time. I ordered the lower on Wednesday and it was at my FFL ready for pickup Saturday morning. Kudos to the team at Bud's for their rapid response, even in the midst of the post-holiday insanity.
