The FN SCAR 17S is a rugged semi-automatic rifle chambered in 7.62x51 NATO and finished in FDE/Tan. Its short-stroke gas-piston system and rotating, locking bolt provide reliable cycling, while the 16.25-inch cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel offers durability and consistent performance. A monolithic aluminum receiver provides a rigid mounting platform with MIL-STD 1913 accessory rails at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions. Folding front and rear iron sights, an adjustable telescoping side-folding stock, an adjustable cheekpiece, and ambidextrous controls support adaptable use. The rifle accepts 20-round magazines and features a threaded muzzle fitted with a compensator.
