The FN SCAR 17S NRCH is a semi-automatic rifle chambered for .308 Win and compatible with 7.62x51 NATO ammunition. It uses a short-stroke gas piston system and a non-reciprocating charging handle for reliable operation. The 16.25-inch cold hammer-forged, chrome-lined barrel is fitted with a compensator and threaded for compatible muzzle devices. A telescoping, side-folding stock with an adjustable cheek piece supports a broad range of shooting positions and storage configurations. Adjustable folding front and removable rear sights provide a durable sighting system, while the full-length Picatinny rail supports the addition of an optic.
