I purchased the rifle...
I purchased the rifle sometime ago. The gun is nice I cant wait to get out and shoot it. It can with the rail attached to the top for an optic. Fit and finish is nice, just a nice gun im happy with it. Now I bought another H&R topper 12 ga a while back. The gun did not fire. It did not strike the primer. I called up H&R customer service to repair. They were fast told me a close gun shop to go to. I have it repaired in about a week. It was a part with the trigger system, the transfer bar wasn't going up enough to come in contact between the hammer and firing pin. It was a 5 dollar part that was replaced. A simple method I found can be shown to see if it will fire. Open the action with the hammer up. While the action is open ( I mean the break barrel is open) pull back the hammer and while holding the hammer pull the trigger and let the hammer come forward. You will be able to see the firing pin protrude. This is how I have found the problem of my firearm. All that aside, the fit and finish is nice. I am happy I made the purchase but be careful of H&R rifles after Freedom Arms took them over, Freedom Arms did what it does best and that is destroy quality of the products just to make a fraction of a dollar.
