This rifle was...
This rifle was purchased to be put away for a gift at a later date. After receiving the rifle I am uncertain if that can be used for that purpose. It has a lot of wear on the finish for a new firearm right out of the box. Additionally, the box & paper wrapper look as if someone slept on them for a few days. Henry Repeating Arms is graciously sending me a new box. I will also have to buff the finish on this rifle with a cotton wheel & compound as it has wear marks in the finish. It was made in 2015, so I can only imagine that it's been handled a lot or been in & out of the box quite a bit.

The rifle I received...
The rifle I received had heavy oxidized magazine, something that you see when you pull it off. Nothing that good polish couldn't handle but I decided to contact manufacturer and after providing them serial number they told me this rifle must have been on the distributor shelf for over a decade (as they don't make this model since 2010) hence possible heavy oxidization. They offered free magazine replacement but they also offered free inspection under product lifetime warranty including replacement of the magazine tube as well along with new magazine itself, this to make sure new magazine won't get rusty again because of possible corrosion inside the tube - which could happen if rifle was stored in incorrect environment. They provided me label for shipping and promised to take care of it all and send me back rifle as it is just made. Fair enough. Knowing I am in good hands of Henry, I am not worrying , just going to take couple more weeks to get my big boy sorted. Thanks.
