A: This is a bolt action so recoil will be substantial. You can look at a "semi-auto: for less recoil since some of the recoil energy is recirculated to chamber the next round. If you need a bolt action 308 you can have it equipped with a recoil dampening muzzle brake.

A: I have that rifle. The hogue stock, and weight, make it the softest shooting bolt .308 I've owned. So much so, my 12yo stick-thin son learned to shoot with it, and is is now his hunting rifle. If you have shoulder issues, get this rifle and use managed/light recoil ammo with it. A: Proprietary mags. The AR-10 mags lock in at the side this one locks at the front. You can get them from many suppliers for $40. Watch the video and you'll see where it locks up and it's not AR 10 style.
