Just got this picked...
Just got this picked up at my ffl. Quick shipping like usual from buds. I was looking for a very accurate heavy 223 with a stainless barrel. This seemed to fit the bill. Unfortunately it is stainless color ceracoat. This is an excellent finish and will be great for whoever is interested. I was looking for polished stainless steel or even bead blasted stainless to drop into a very nice piece of Walnut. So now I've got a barreled action that is not really what I was looking for. Machining is excellent and the trigger seems pretty good but have not set into a stock yet to really get the feel for it. So my plans changed and it will go into a bell and Carson stock and the bright side is I won't spend all my time worrying about dings, rust and scratches. This should make a great coyote and Chuck gun. Also mixed reports on barrel twist, some places say 1:12 others say 1:9. Howa says 1:9 on latest literature and it does appear to be tighter than a 12 twist but I have not verified for sure. If you shoot 55 grains like I do it shouldn't matter much. 1:9 does give more bullet weight options though. Hope this additional info helps make a better informed purchase for you. Would recommend based on quality.
