A: Howa is a brand that is made in Japan. They are very high-quality and they produce the action for the Weatherby vanguard. Their rifles are top notch and probably go against a Remington 700. The only difference is the color of the stock. One is green and one is black.

I recently had a Howa rifle after years of hard use go sour and used the action as the basis for a 6.5 Creedmoor Precision rifle. The only supposed drawback to it would be the slower lock time (time between the trigger breaking and the firing pin falling) but I really cannot see how it has affected accuracy at all.
