I really love the feel...
I really love the feel of this rifle. I have not had much time to shoot it but it seems very capable of shooting consistent small groups. The action is wonderfully smooth to operate. The only small dislike I have for this gun is the stock finish is not what I expected. The seams show and it appears that the finish may scratch easily. But, for the price and the intended purpose of this rifle is for some youngsters to use it will be great. Bud's is a fantastic business to deal with,their checkout process is very easy to navigate for an older man who is not very good with technology items. Their shipping is fast and tracking system keeps me updated on everything.

I just picked up my...
I just picked up my rifle from my FFL. This is my third Howa rifle in the last ten years or so . The rifle is a short action (not a mini) and weighs about 7 1/2 lbs. It came with a bottom metal constructed of aluminum and steel. It's a conventional top fed, hinged floor plate design. I much prefer this to the plastic bottom "metal" with removable box magazine as supplied with the mini action model. My only real complaint at this time is the stock. Although it is similar to the plastic stock supplied with the Mini, the fit and finish isn't nearly as good. I paid about the same price for the rifle as a barreled action, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much. My shooting will consist mostly of informal target practice and some reduction of the groundhog population. The previous Howa's I've owned were good shooters and I expect this one will be too. All in all they produce good rifles especially at this price range, but that stock has got to go.
