Excellent varmint...
Excellent varmint rifle. After proper barrel break-in, it shoots under1 MOA groups with handloads. Trigger breaks at 2.75 lbs. but has the slightest amount of creep. I liked the Howa so much that I later bought a Howa 1500 in 270 to leave at a property in Texas for hunting whitetails there. That one also has a similar-weight trigger with a very slight amount of creep, so I shoot the Ranchland model to train my mind/finger as to the trigger before hunting in Texas, since my main rifles are two pre-1964 M-70s with very light triggers and NO creep.
