I would have given...
I would have given this 5 stars but for a couple of things. One is the wing safety - don't like it, won't use it and it will soon be gone replaced with a plug. The other thing is the rear sight - very flimsy and would shift left and right with a little presure - not good. Now, having said that, the rest of the carbine is great! The wood, the fit and finish, the bore dimension (slugged at .429" grooves) and the action functions perfectly. It feeds every thing I've tried thus far and I took it to the range and shot it and got excellent results. For the price, you can't go wrong!

Beautiful rifle; metal...
Beautiful rifle; metal to wood fit is very good. Action slicks up nicely after a 100 rounds or so. Much smoother then the Marlin 1894 .44 I had. Feeds all .44 mags I have tried (WWB 240gr JSP, Handloads using 200gr RNFP and 240gr LSWC). Good accuracy out to 100 yards (As far as I have shot it). The upper tang is already drilled and tapped (fFront and back holes) for a tang sight, which I also plan on getting. The case hardening on the fore grip cap, receiver, and butt looks good and adds a nice touch to this classic styled rifle. I highly recommend this rifle to anyone looking for a strong, reliable, accurate, smooth, and great looking rifle. I am so impressed with the quality of this Puma that I also ordered the 16" carbine in .44 Mag for my truck gun. E.H. in Wyoming
