The KelTec SUB-2000 is a compact .40 S&W semi-automatic rifle built for convenient storage, transport, and easy maintenance. Its straight blowback action is simple to operate, while the folding design reduces the rifle to approximately 16.25 inches for storage. The three-position adjustable synthetic stock helps accommodate different shooters, and the M&P magazine configuration provides compatibility with Smith & Wesson M&P magazines. An aperture rear sight and adjustable AR-style front sight offer a practical sighting system. The forend combines Picatinny rails with M-LOK slots for compatible accessories, and the threaded 16.25-inch barrel accepts accessories using 9/16-24 threads.

I have several SUB-2000s and have been impressed with them. I bought this one specifically because it uses M&P40 magazines and is therefore compatible with my duty gun. It is really the only game in town for a carbine that uses M&P40 magazines. My other SUB-2000s use Beretta and Glock magazines. The Beretta version came with a factory 17 round Beretta 92 magazine, the Glock 23 version came with a factory Glock 23 13 round magazine, the Glock 17 version came with a Magpul 17 round magazine. This gun came with two Promag 10 round magazines (the full capacity version also comes with Promags). I'm not particularly bothered by this as I have plenty of factory magazines and had no plans to use the included 10 round mags. However, the Promags are clearly lower quality then the included magazines with other models (lower quality finish, rough cuts, Promag reputation). Magazine quality aside I'm quite happy with the gun.
