The Magnum Research MLR22ATU Magnum Lite MLR Ultra is a lightweight .22 LR semi-automatic rifle designed around a precision-oriented tensioned modular barrel system. Its 18-inch Ultra barrel combines a steel bore with an aluminum outer construction, stainless steel breech and muzzle caps, and an internal heat sink to help manage barrel temperature during extended shooting sessions. The Bentz chamber and 1:16 twist support consistent rimfire performance. A black synthetic ambidextrous thumbhole stock provides a stable, comfortable hold for left- or right-handed shooters, while the integral Weaver-type scope mount base simplifies optic installation. The rifle uses a Ruger 10/22-compatible trigger group and rotary magazines.

I was looking to...
I was looking to replace another 22LR rifle and I reviewed several offerings before making my purchase. The Magnum Research build quality and availability of upgrade components was the deciding factor. This is basically a custom built rifle with a super accurate barrel. The shot groups ar 25 yards (my only shooting option) are within the size of a dime and some groups of 5 rounds are half that size. The rerceiver with intergal Piccatiney rail is superb. This shoots as well as my 22LR bolt action rifle.
